June 2026 – a Castel story by the Dobitsch family
A matter close to the heart
25 years – the result of a journey

Before we became hosts ourselves, we were guests at the Castel for 16 years. It was from this perspective that the desire grew, particularly in Mum Evelyn, not just to visit a place, but to shape it. When the opportunity arose to take it over, this idea became our most wonderful reality. Not with the aim of starting from scratch, but with the desire to carry on the house and refine it gently – just as we had always wished for ourselves.
From the very beginning, it was not growth or financial success that mattered, but quality. Not size, but character. Not a lot of fuss, but a clear vision of what makes a good establishment: tranquillity and privacy, the finest cuisine, sophistication and a stylish atmosphere. From the very start, being a host meant taking responsibility for guests, staff and a place that deserves trust.
Over the years, this has shaped a path forged from many decisions. Some easy, others challenging; not everything predictable or plannable. Yet the direction remained clear, underpinned by the conviction that consistency is born when one works steadfastly towards what one believes to be right.

Today, we are not looking back on 25 years, but on what has grown: a house that has evolved without losing its essence; a team that has helped shape this journey; and guests who keep coming back because they appreciate everything that makes the Castel what it is.
This anniversary is less a look back than a moment to pause and reflect. It is a thank you for your trust, loyalty and the years we have shared, and at the same time an expression of what will guide us: being hosts as a life-enriching vocation and way of life.
