Dine & Wine Festival 2023: A look back at culinary highlights

Festival day 1

The 21st Dine & Wine Festival once again proved to be the culinary highlight of the season. Our head chef Gerhard Wieser was accompanied over four festival days by multi-award-winning guest chefs Dieter Müller from Germany and Gaetano Trovato from Italy.

Top wines from Ceretto (Piedmont), Ricasoli (Tuscany) and Pfitscher (South Tyrol) accompanied the festival

Festival day 1

The best evenings take place in the kitchen: The festival kick-off was up close, casual and irresistible

The opening evening in Gerhard Wieser's kitchen not only offered guests the thrill to watch live preparation, but also to see the diversity of our cherished suppliers who were visiting that evening.

As part of this “indulgence safari”, the popular and amusing quiz was held once again, giving guests the chance to put their culinary knowledge to the test and win great prizes at the same time. A variety of exquisite wines accompanied the casually elegant dinner, harmonising with each delicacy. The shared experience created an unforgettable prelude to four culinary days.

Festival day 2

An unforgettable evening with legendary chef Dieter Müller: The first of three gala evenings was a feast full of culinary masterpieces

The second evening of the festival turned out to be a legendary gala evening. Dieter Müller, an icon of the culinary world, accepted our invitation and enchanted guests with classic French, Mediterranean and Asian flavours.

The evening was accompanied by exquisite wines from the Italian Ceretto winegrowing family, whose long tradition and love of wine perfectly complemented Müller's culinary genius. A unique highlight of the festival that be long-remembered.

Festival day 3

A special evening with Gaetano Trovato: Bella Italia returned to our kitchen after 10 years

The Italian guest chef, who has been awarded 2 Michelin stars, enchanted the guests with his modern and creative Tuscan cuisine. Gaetano Trovato, a master of his trade, cooked with passion and emotion for our guests and organised a magical gala evening for them.

After years of training in Switzerland and France, Trovato returned to his native Tuscany. He has been creating wonderful Italian delicacies in the Arnolfo restaurant for over 40 years. Tuscan cuisine naturally calls for Tuscan wines! The products from the famous Barone Ricasoli winery were therefore a guarantee for a great accompaniment.

Festival day 4

A grand finale with Gerhard Wieser: The final gala evening offered a harmonious fusion of Tyrolean savouriness and Mediterranean lightness

Gerhard Wieser, our passionate chef, created an unforgettable menu. The Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine, characterised by quality and freshness, reflected his creative mastery. The wines from Pfitscher, a South Tyrolean winemaking family, perfectly complemented the culinary delights.

The Pfitscher family, consisting of several generations, not only share their passion for wine, but also their knowledge and creativity. Their winery in Montan in the South Tyrolean lowlands stands for first-class, natural wines that are produced sustainably and in harmony with nature.

A look back at indulgence

Exquisite highlights: Gourmet dinners and exquisite wines delighted visitors to the festival. But the daily programme also held culinary discoveries in store

From a fascinating Barolo tasting to a sustainable wine trip to the Pfitscher winery – the daily programme offered additional moments of pleasure alongside the gala dinners. Highlights included the first South Tyrolean buffalo mozzarella and the autumnal Castel hike with traditional South Tyrolean delicacies such as chestnuts, Speck and cheese.

Culinary journey through time

Special Guest 2023: Annette Sandner's "culinary timepieces" – a tribute to historical menus and cookery books

The exhibition and lecture by Annette Sandner provided exciting insights into the creative process. At the festival, the photographer and food journalist presented her art project "culinary timepieces". Historical menus and books served as a canvas for the staging of classic dishes. Visitors were taken on a journey from the idea to the limited edition art print series in a fascinating presentation. Annette was also personally on hand to answer questions about the project and offered personalised advice on framing and formats.
